Tolerance and mediation – better than conflicts

"Tolerance and mediation  - better than conflicts"  is project selected by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, implemented by the Loznica-based NGO" Lighthouse" in the course of the academic 2008/2009. The aim of the project is to create safe environment for young people through prevention and reduction of all forms of violence at school and outside it, with special emphasis on growing violence among peers. It is directed towards training and strengthening of young people - peer educators and mediators   to "spread" the idea of tolerance, non-violent conflict management among their peers and younger people and to mediate in conflicts among peers  in all four secondary schools in Loznica.  The project envisages fostering adult capacities; primarily school Student Safety Teams as well as defining Action Plans and clear procedures to be applied in case of violence over young people. It shall be implemented in all 4 Loznica secondary school as well as in primary schools in Loznica, Banja Koviljaca and Klupci. An array of "public performances" shall be held in the scope of the project. "street campaign, performances, graffiti drawing with the aim toward promotion of project and its ideas, fostering  public sensitivity and local self-governance in order to ensure sustainability of the campaign. The project was supported by the local self-governance through its Office for Young People.
