On the occasion of the start-up of the first stage of the system for protection of residential areas and agricultural complex from flood, reconstruction of riverbeds and embankments along the river Jadar, under the project of the World Bank, the mayor of Loznica, Vidoje Petrovic, with his associates, organized reception for representatives of Directorate for Waters of Serbia, contractors from consortium "Hidrogradjevinar - Sava", Project Manager of the Public Water Supply enterprise and supervisory authorities. This meeting represents basis for the start-up of works along the river Jadar in its middle and upper flow which, as reported, might start in April. The project includes following works: removing shrubbery, tree stumps and vegetation from the riverbeds, reinforcement of the river beds and embankments in the sections from the Jelav bridge to the railway bridge in Kozjak and further towards the road bridge on the road to Jadranska Lesnica - Kozjak in Gornji Dobric. The works shall take place along the 11 kilometers long course. It is expected that, in case of favorable weather conditions, the works should be finished prior the agreed deadline of six months, as reported by representatives of contractors.
The partnership of the local self-governance of Loznica with project holders shall be based on strict observance of all terms and conditions from the agreed project was said by Mayor of Loznica, Bidoje Petrovic, since the timely and quality performance of job shall be a recommendation for new operative measures on reconstruction of waterways in the Loznica region.
