Banja Koviljaca

            Banja Koviljaca is a spa with rich tradition that started its development by the end of XIX century. It attained peak of its fame and splendor in the period between the two world wars and became reputed fashion place in Eastern Europe. A high number of buildings in the beautiful park facilities date back from that period.
            Banja Koviljaca is presently leader in the field of health tourism in Serbia. The special hospital for rehabilitation with wellness center is visited by a high number of local and foreign tourists every year. The accommodation capacities provided by hotel tourist enterprise „Banja Koviljaca" are not sufficient. Adequate sport and recreational facilities are also needed.

            The ethno-village is situated 6 km away from the Loznica town. It is birthplace of the reformer of the Serbian language and culture Vuk Stefanović Karadžić. This explains the fact that this place is visited by 80.000-100.000 tourists per year. The accommodation facilities are lacking -the tourists can not stay for a longer period of time in Loznica after the visit to Trsic.  Besides the possibility of meeting requirements by construction of hotels in Banja, there are privately owned plots in Trsic foreseen for construction of hotels and ethno-villages by the Detailed Regulation Plan.
            Construction of accommodation capacities would create conditions for development of cultural, congress, students and ethno tourism.

Significant cultural and historic monuments are situated in the vicinity of Trsic, and near Banja Koviljaca:

Monasteries:  

Tronosa - 14 century;
Cokesina - 15 century;
Sokograd - 20 century;
Dobri potok - the cabin log church from 16 century;

            Picnic grounds and recreational facilities on the river Drina and the mountain of Gucevo are also available to tourists.

            A large number of manifestations are organized on the territory of the Loznica town throughout the year: Vuk's fair, Student Vuk's fair, the Days of Mica and Vera Popovic, the Days of Cvijic, the Drina rafting, The World of Women, Folklore Festival, the Exhibition of mushrooms and herbal plants, Moto rally  as well as a high number of other activities.
            Trsic hosts art school, crafts workshops, multimedia centers for the teaching of the Serbian language, tradition and culture.
